Familiarisation Trip
Once an employee has received an Assignment contract to work in Germany a visit to the BAESG offices for a familiarisation trip will be arranged, (not applicable to short-term assignees). The objective of this trip is to be able to discuss any uncertainties an employee/the family have in working and living in Munich. The advice and requirements of every individual and accompanying family member(s) will vary, therefore we prefer an open forum to be able to air all concerns and allay any fears on embarking on an assignment overseas.
Invitations are extended to employee and spouse, and if practical, accompanying children also. Travel bookings should be arranged with the BAESG, Travel Officer in Munich and air travel should be by the company 146 aircraft from Warton to Munich. Accommodation is arranged for two nights' bed/breakfast in one of our local hotels, and a hire-car for 2 days is also provided. No additional expenses will be reimbursed by BAES.
The priority is to visit the local BAESG office where information will be exchanged on accommodation issues/requirements. Information and maps are provided and if applicable, an appointment should be made to visit one of the local international schools. Time permitting, appointments can also be arranged to meet local personnel staff to discuss contractual details of overseas assignment.
