Airport Connections

Munich Airport (Franz Josef Strauss Flughagfen) has the second highest number of arrivals and departures in Germany (Frankfurt being first) is approximately 30km north of central Munich, about 3 km from the Eurofighter GmbH Hallbergmoos offices.

The inner-city commuter train service (S-Bahn) runs directly from the airport to the inner city every 20 minutes, taking approximately 40 minutes. Two services are in operation both going to the city centre, Line S8 going East of the City or Line S1 going West of the City. There is also a Lufthansa airport shuttle bus service in operation to the main train station in Munich (Hauptbahnhof), taking approximately 45 minutes. Alternatively, a taxi-service from the Airport to Munich city should be approximately �50 and take approximately 40 minutes.

For BAES employees and accompanying family members, the main recommended flight options for travelling between Warton Aerodrome and Munich Airport is with the Company 146 flight. Non BAES employees can also travel on these flights, bookings should however be made via a BAES employee, to ensure approval has been gained for the visitor to be on-site in Warton. MUNICH ARRIVAL BUS TRANSFER: Terminal D to Marriott Hotel in Freising, the Aigner and Pacific Hotel in Ottobrunn and the Holiday Inn Hotel in Unterhaching.

MUNICH DEPARTURE BUS TRANSFER:- NETMA building (Unterhaching) at 1435 for the EADS main gate (Tor 1), departing at 1450, then to Eurofighter/Panavia Building (Soeldnermoos 17) departing at 1550 direct to Munich Airport.
